My Trotsky Story

Beloved American Bulldog It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Trotsky, our faithful American Bulldog and cherished companion. Trotsky was more than a pet; he was a devoted best friend to Brian, a patient and tolerant sibling to his feline housemates Resin and Buddha, and the proud, loving big brother and mentor to young puppy Toro. Trotsky’s spirit was as vast as the lakes he loved. A true boat dog at heart, he found joy in the gentle rocking of the water and the fresh air of his favorite spots — Garfield Lake, the Mississippi headwaters at Lake Itasca, and the breathtaking expanses of Yellowstone Park. Wherever Brian’s truck took him, Trotsky was eager to explore, always ready for the next adventure. He had a special preference for his favorite humans — Jill, Hugh, Graham, Carol, and Phil — who were more than friends; they were family. Trotsky’s idea of a perfect evening was a bonfire gathering where laughter and companionship filled the air. He was endlessly enthusiastic about chasing tennis balls, though few survived his enthusiastic play. When it came to meals, Trotsky was never picky — anything on the table was his favorite. Though we deeply miss our old friend, we find comfort in imagining Trotsky swimming freely somewhere, fishing for sticks and enjoying the endless lakes he loved so much. His loyalty, warmth, and joyful spirit will forever remain in our hearts. Rest well, Trotsky. You were truly one of a kind. Sue and Brian
